We continue to expand our involvement in Community Fire Safety through in-house and joint working initiatives and are engaged in developing both strategic and local partnerships to deliver these initiatives. In doing so benefits can be seen at local community level across the Service area through the provision of targeted free home fire safety checks.

 

Our initiatives are directed by intelligence derived from national statistics and local studies. The local studies are particularly valuable, as although the incident trends show the same indicators of deprivation, age and dependency as the national “at risk” categories, our staff can direct Service specific resources to combat fire deaths and casualties in the communities we serve.

 

We are fully committed to the delivery of free home fire safety  checks which are available to all. However, our main priority is to provide advice and enhance safety for the most vulnerable in our communities.

These home fire safety checks are delivered by our operational staff and are supported by specialist Community Safety Advocates.
