In August 2003, The Scottish Executive instructed each Fire Authority to produce an Integrated Risk Management Plan as part of the modernisation agenda of the Fire and Rescue Service.

Through the integrated risk management planning process we provide intervention and prevention resources appropriate to the identified risk  with the clear aim of reducing risk in our communities.

Our Service is working towards improving community safety through the development of strong partnerships with other agencies, to reduce injuries and deaths across a wide range of life threatening emergencies such as fires, road traffic collisions and other special service related incidents.

We have now published our 6th IRMP Action Plan, and believe the options for the projects contained within this document will contribute to the continuous improvement of our Service Delivery model aimed at enhancing safety in our communities and for our fire-fighters, within the context of the Fire Board’s Risk Review Framework.

The emphasis of the modern Fire and Rescue Service is on reducing the risk from fire and other emergencies, and we are committed to providing a service that identifies, reduces and controls those risks and wherever possible preventing emergencies from happening in the first place.

If you have any queries about the Integrated Risk Management Plan, projects proposed as part of the Action Plan or would like copies of any documents, please telephone the Integrated Risk Management Planning Team on 01463 227000 or email enquiries@hifrs.org
