Fire Action Plan
Wherever you are in the home it is essential that you know how to escape in the event of a fire. It doesn't take long and it could save your life and the lives of those you love. When you think of your fire action plan you should take into account the following:
- Who is usually in the property?
- How will they know there's a fire?
- If there are children/elderly who will raise the alarm to them and help them?
- If there are people who can't see, hear or move around easily, who will help them?
- How will you get out, are escape routes clear of obstacles?
- How will you contact the emergency services?
Carry out the Fire Action Planner questionnaire and then you can create a Fire Action Plan. This plan can be placed in a prominent place such as a notice board, or fridge door.
